Antonine House Care Home, Meallmore Ltd

This project was initially undertaken on behalf Allan Water Developments who owned the smaller care home that originally stood on this site.

Following closure of the original outdated care home the owner demolished the originally building and we gained planning approval for a new modern 80 bed care home facility within this conservation area. The site was then sold on to Care Home providers Meallmore Ltd who continued our commission through to the full detailed design, tender services and contract administration through the construction phase.

This 80 bed care home facility was designed to the highest standards and includes many features that exceed what is required by the Care Inspectorate and incorporates a Cinema, reminiscence areas, rooftop terrace area and a variety of garden spaces to allow the residents to continue outdoor activity where capable. We worked very closely with the local planning department and Archaeologist as the property sits within the Bearsden Conservation Area and has a section of the Historic Antonine Wall running through the rear garden of the property so all design and construction decisions where reviewed closely to ensure a successful outcome.

The design was tailored to a January site start with a specialist concrete frame design manufactured off site to aid in quick onsite delivery and buildable regardless of weather constraints. The project was delivered to an extremely high standard and was welcomed by both client and residents.
