Bothwell Park Industrial Unit, South Lanarkshire Council
As part of an Architectural Design Team Framework for South Lanarkshire Council we were asked to manage and oversee the remediation works to a contaminated brownfield site in Bothwell Park Industrial Park in Uddingston.
Once the remediation works were successfully completed, we were appointed to lead the design team in the design and on-site delivery of a 4500sqft shell unit, including yard space and staff/visitor parking, positioned on a prominent corner of this existing industrial park.
The design brief required an industrial shell type unit which would give the Council’s Estates Department maximum flexibility for marketing the property. Utilising the practice’s previous experience in this sector, we were able to produce a modern sleek monopitch design which delivered all of the client’s requirements and was actually pre-let in advance of the completion of the construction phase.
Located within an established industrial estate with good links to Scotland’s Central Belt and motorway network, the building also benefits from the design of a large yard area with visitor parking and a separate gated yard for storage and secure staff parking.
Works included:
- Full Feasibility and Concept Design
- Architectural Design
- Statutory Consents
- Contract Administration Services
Bothe the remediation and construction phases were completed on time and on budget and provided the council with much needed warehouse and storage facilities in South Lanarkshire. The client was delighted to have this unit pre-let in advance of construction completion.
