Cathcart Place Industrial Park, South Lanarkshire Council
As part of and Architectural Design Team Framework for South Lanarkshire Council we were asked to consider a feasibility scheme for a new Industrial Park at Cathcart Place in Rutherglen. Once funding was secured, we undertook a full architectural service as design team lead to deliver over 21,000sqft of new build shell Industrial storage and warehousing units for sale and rental.
The newly designed industrial warehousing and storage units varied in size from 1000sqft to 5000sqft and were delivered in phases based on the council’s funding requirements.
Significant remediation works were undertaken to two of the sites in the phase one works as the sites were former heavy industry usage and had varying levels of ground contaminants that required remediation before the site could be developed.
Following the successful completion of the larger phase 1 units the same design team and contractor were appointed to deliver phase 2 and 3 and this assisted in delivering a continuity of design and delivery to a high standard:
Works included:
- Full Feasibility and Concept Design
- Architectural Design
- Statutory and Listed Building Consents
- Contract Administration Services
All three phases were completed on time and on budget and provided the council with much needed warehouse and storage facilities in South Lanarkshire. The client were so pleased with the delivery of these units we were awarded a further project to deliver further Industrial developments in both Hamilton and Bothwell.
