Player’s Lounge, Ibrox Main Stand, Rangers Football Club Ltd
Having successfully completed some minor works projects with Rangers Football Club and Morris and Spottiswood, the McLennan Partnership were approached to undertake a full architectural design service to develop and deliver a concept design for a new Player’s Lounge within the first team dressing room area of the main stand of Ibrox Stadium.
This included the creation of new Player’s Lounge Suite including new kitchen and catering facilities, dining and lounge areas, new manager’s locker room, showers and waiting room alongside a new suite of Doctor’s and treatment room with warm up zone for the players on match day.
Due to the Listed status of the Ibrox Main Stand Façade and reception areas our design works were undertaken to provide these modern match day facilities while honouring, enhancing and restoring the historic surroundings of the first team dressing room area.
New timber panelling was installed throughout the corridors leading to the new Players Lounge Facility and First Team Dressing rooms to reflect the historic fabric of the timber panelled reception and marble staircase.
Modern vinyl graphics were then installed to chart the team’s successes and show the club legends adorning the walls of the first team area.
Works included:
- Full Feasibility and Concept Design
- Architectural Design
- Statutory Consents
- Interior Design
The works had to be completed in a short time period over the close season to be ready for the start of the new season. The new Player’s Lounge provide the first team and management team a modern purpose-built facility for use pre and post-match to enhance the match day experience and has been well received by the management team and players.
