Routes to Work Training Centre, South Lanarkshire Council
This project was undertaken on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council Regeneration Services and was to develop and implement design proposals for converting this vacant shop unit in East Kilbride Town Centre into a “Routes to Work” Office and Training Centre as a complimentary service to the Job Centre unit which was positioned in the adjacent shop unit.
This facility provided office accommodation for 12 staff and had a number of meeting and training room spaces included to allow job seekers to attend and be re-trained with new skills to assist them in their job opportunities.
We provided full interior design services and selected the furniture for the offices, break out areas and hot desk areas to the front of the training centre.
A custom joinery reception desk was designed by the McLennan Partnership to include a DDA compliant reception area and the desk was fitted with recessed LED strip lighting as an added feature.
Works included:
- Full Feasibility and Concept Design
- Architectural Design
- Statutory and Listed Building Consents
- Interior Design & Space Planning
- Full Conservation and Heritage Services
Works were completed on time and under budget and have been received well by both the staff and the public who have used these services to date.
