SEGRO Park Unit 5 Fitout, MEP Hire Ltd
MEP Hire specialises in supplying tools and equipment to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and commercial fitout sectors. Having undertaken a number of projects for them in both Scotland and the North of England we were asked to assist in the design and delivery of the fit-out of a new build 23,800 sqft unit at SEGRO Park Rainham in London. This new facility is ideally positioned adjacent to the A13 and within easy reach of the M25 and central London and will create 30 new jobs.
The McLennan Partnership worked closely with MEP Hire’s chosen fit-out contractor from the outset and prepared design to meet the brief.
The brief required us to create new office, meeting room, board room accommodation alongside a new trade counter facility adjacent to the main storage warehouse which in turn required a new 10,000sqft plus mezzanine storage area with workshop below. Additional toilet, changing and mess room facilities were also incorporated, and a new staff rom / lounge created for the office and warehouse staff.
The McLennan Partnership were also appointed as the Principle Designer on this project and we carried out the service to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate the Health and Safety aspects of the design phase of this project, compiling and providing the pre-construction info and liaising with the Principle Contractor, steel fabricators and sub-contractors involved in the mezzanine design.

Works were competed to a tight programme and within budget and we undertook a site inspection role during the construction phase to assist the client and ensure that the fit-out contractor delivered the design to the exacting storage requirements of the client.
