The Haven Caring Centre Forth, The Haven
The Haven is a registered charity providing care and support to people affected by a range of life limiting illnesses and providing additional care services to their family members and carers. This support is offered within local communities to aid those dealing with life limiting illnesses and is designed to help individuals cope with physical, emotional and practical aspects of their illness and to enable them to face the future positively and with hope.
Following submission of a design team fee quote and initial design proposals the McLennan Partnership Ltd were delighted to be appointed following the competitive design process to assist and develop the proposals from concept stage to full delivery on site and on onto the initial move-in process. The McLennan Partnership are delighted to have delivered this project following close consultation with the Haven staff and management to ensure the facility met their and the client’s needs.

Our involvement consisted of a full Architectural Service, from inception to completion. And included us assisting the client with funding bids to secure adequate funding to deliver this project. The Project included a 200sqm building, parking and private and community garden spaces.

The cost of running this facility, given the Haven’s charity status, was always a concern for the Haven team and as such we designed it to include solar panels, low energy lighting and high levels of insulation to minimise the running costs to the charity client and they have been delighted with the outcome which has allowed them to double the number of local residents accessing their services within the Clydesdale area.
